Stockton Globe – our latest venue is opening next year!
Set to open its doors in 2020 following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, Stockton Globe will bring the world’s biggest names in music and comedy to the North East.
A major restoration project funded by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund will see this beautiful art deco building transformed into a 3,000 capacity internationally-renowned venue fit for the 21st Century. The refurbishment will also see a smaller 250 capacity venue open in the adjoining building.
Situated in the heart of Stockton High Street, Stockton Globe originally opened its doors in 1935. During its life as an entertainment venue it has played host to many international names from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to Sadler’s Wells Ballet and the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company.
Once redeveloped, Stockton Globe will stand in a revitalized Town Centre which has music, performance, the arts, and creative industries at its heart.
One of the exciting features of the refurbished Stockton Globe is that the Stalls area can be configured to suit the type of event that takes place, with a capacity ranging from 770 – 2,200 people. This includes fully seated to suit the high-profile comedians that will perform, or standing to accommodate gigs (which will include an open bar at the rear) plus the option of an orchestra pit for events where one is required. The Circle will be fully seated at all times with a capacity of 836.
