The Manchester Palace is one of the most successful theatres in the country. A Grade II listed building, originally built as the “Palace of Varieties”, the theatre was extensively remodelled in the early 1900s by the legendary Frank Matcham.
In the 1970s, the theatre underwent a major refurbishment, restoring the auditorium and front of house facilities to their Edwardian splendour and improving backstage facilities. With its large, well-equipped stage and nearly two thousand seats, the theatre is a must-visit venue for major West End shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, The Lion King, West Side Story, Mary Poppins, Wicked, The Bodyguard, Shrek and most recently, Billy Elliot. Shows that are scheduled to perform in the upcoming months include: Beautiful, Miss Saigonand Matilda.
