Built by Torquay Council on a stunning seafront site, The Princess Theatre opened in 1961. Top of the bill on the opening night were Tommy Cooper and the legendary Morecambe and Wise.
Best known for light entertainment and family variety shows, the venue, under ATG’s management, has increasingly presented musicals with recent shows including Grease, Evita, The Rocky Horror Show, and Sunny Afternoon. Recent comedy includes Jimmy Carr, Rhod Gilbert, Al Murray and Ben Elton.
